Kostov Chartered Accountants was established in Fitzroy North, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in March 2016 by Kristian Kostov. The practice specialises in providing bookkeeping, accounting and taxation services to small businesses and individuals. Our goal is to ensure that our clients have full control over their financial affairs and don’t contribute more tax than required by the law. Kristian obtained his Certificate of Public Practice in April 2016, became a Registered Tax Agent in March 2016 and a Chartered Accountant (Full Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand) in January 2015. He is an RMIT Alumnus, born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and married to Sophie Carbonneau. Kristian and Sophie have two children. He has lived and worked in Melbourne since 2001. Prior to that, Kristian lived and worked in the Greek part of Cyprus for 7 years, where he gained his Degree in Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis and started his career in accounting. He is fluent in English, Bulgarian and Russian. Before establishing Kostov Chartered Accountants, Kristian worked in various accounting roles in transport and logistics and telecommunications. He also worked as a Global Third Party Ship Manager and maritime service solutions provider, in import/export, the not-for-profit sector, and in professional services firms in the areas of accounting, corporate psychology, marketing and property development.
Being an ex-professional tennis player and a tennis coach, Kristian likes to contribute to the community as Treasurer of both Elwood Park Tennis Club and Princess Hill Tennis Club. In his free time, he enjoys staying fit by playing tennis weekly with his family and friends, riding his bike and going to the occasional footy game.
